Vital Alert provides very low frequency (“VLF”) TTE communication links in hard-to-service areas such as mines, subways, pipelines, and tunnels where obstructions like rock, and concrete are common, often for less than half the cost of alternatives. This solution complements core network technologies such as leaky feeder and mesh wireless, acting as a reliable and cost effective back-up and a means to extend networks into difficult areas.

Vital Alert’s C1000 mine and tunnel links use magnetic induction, advanced digital communications techniques and ultra-low frequency transmission to wirelessly provide reliable 2-way voice, text, or data links through rock strata and other solid media.  The C1000 can provide an emergency warning system with two-way real-time communications between surface and underground.  The equipment is provided with standard audio and data interfaces, allowing it to be connected to a wide variety of communications devices such as sensors and RFID tags.  Vital Alert's system can be used with RFID readers to track assets and people in challenging underground environments, and for sensor monitoring of various conditions such as heat and pressure.  We have filed a patent for a portable, backpack-sized TTE system, which has significant applications in emergency response and law enforcement.
