ABOUT US

"If we are not willing to make the necessary changes to existing communications infrastructure and if we continue to ignore the harsh lessons of September 11, the Madrid and London bombings, then those that have lost their lives will have died in vain."

Joe Miller, President/CEO, Vital Alert Communication Inc.

COMPANY HISTORY

Incorporated by its founder and CEO Mr. Joe Miller, the company's focus has been on providing engineering, advanced technology systems and solutions where 100% communications is necessary in critical, emergency situations.

Vital Alert technology evolved out of a decade long R&D program undertaken by Mr. Miller, who focused primary attention on the emergency warning and rescue of miners. Its abilities to penetrate the earth and send communication signals to depths of 9000 feet were first proven in 1991 - in the harshest environment known to man -underground mining.

However, following the first and the second bombings of the World Trade Centre in New York, Mr. Miller recognized that his technology had even greater potential in rescue operations beyond mining. In 2002 he set up Vital Alert Communication Inc.

Since that time, considerable attention has been focused on the development of the Vital Alert technology where immediate communications is required in emergency, security and evacuation situations.

OPPORTUNITIES

1. Homeland Security

The opportunities in urban safety and Homeland Security alone are endless. It's not at all difficult to see the potential for Vital Alert's communication networks in North America and other markets worldwide, where national security is critical. It would be impossible to fully quantify the size of the potential market (worldwide), but suffice it to say, the market opportunities for Vital Alert's technology is huge.

The United States is spending roughly $100 billion per annum for homeland security. This includes the services of federal, state and local law enforcement and emergency services but excludes spending for the armed services.

2. Insurance Companies

September 11 was the USA's largest-ever insured loss. "The spikes in insurance premiums have increased more than 100 percent in some cases, and are being felt by high profile buildings, including sports, entertainment and recreation facilities, local universities, utilities, government, city and county buildings, malls, high-rise apartments and businesses located near sites considered potential terrorist targets." The New York Times According to a survey conducted by the American Institute of Architects, about 55% of the architects said their clients have made building security a higher priority since the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Vital Alert sees a very important and potential market for our products. For insurance companies, it could save them millions of dollars in benefit payments. By working with architects and engineers, insurance companies, building owners and managers, their buildings can be better protected against fire and terrorist attacks, thus lowering insurance premiums.
